Spotlight: Won his only race when picking up a classified over C&D (good to firm) last August but he's also been second three times here and got no luck when runner-up in a division of this last year; also hit traffic when beaten just over 1l in Lady Of The Garr's race at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) last time; firmly on the shortlist with Oisin Murphy taking over.
Spotlight: 5-39 on turf and he nearly bagged a sixth when just failing to grab Lady Of The Garr at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) last time; this extra yardage will help and he's a player.
Spotlight: Had four of these behind when making her turf breakthrough at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) 13 days ago; back up 2lb but likely to give it another good go; respected.
Spotlight: Has been on the downgrade for a good while now and he never threatened off this career-low mark on AW last time; might pop back up one day but he's not the solid option.
Spotlight: Ran her best race this year when a neck second at Beverley (good to firm) on her penultimate start but was below that form when fifth of eight at Nottingham (also 5f, good; Doralee last) next time; has won at 6f.
Spotlight: 1-24, over 6f in 2023; holding her form well over 5f in recent weeks, including when reunited with regular rider Joanna Mason and third at Ripon (good) a fortnight ago; first start over 6f this year and likely thereabouts again.
Spotlight: On a losing run but she regularly attracts market interest and went off favourite again when fourth of ten at Ripon (5f, good) in first-time cheekpieces (retained) a fortnight ago; finished seventh both previous starts here and others are preferred.
Spotlight: No better than fourth in any of his ten races but his latest fifth of 14 at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) was a step back in the right direction; the sole 3yo and he's not dismissed.
Spotlight: Both wins on AW, including when landing a Newcastle classified (6f) in a first-time visor in March; 15-8 favourite when beaten 2l by Golden Prosperity in a similar event at Nottingham 20 days ago and there's a bit of work on to turn the tables.
Spotlight: Two wins for Craig Lidster and he's run well here before but it's been a struggle for this yard and he can't be recommended at present.
Spotlight: C&D winner who had cheekpieces back on (often visored) when beaten less than 1l by Lady Of The Garr at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) last time; he's another who will be suited by this slightly longer trip.
Spotlight: Went close when second over C&D (good to firm) in May then won his tenth race, beating twelve others at Ripon (a race he'd won before) a fortnight later; form took a sharp dip last time, though.
Spotlight: Respectable effort when beaten 1l over C&D in May but his overall profile is patchy and today's cheekpieces didn't seem to work when used for the first time 34 days ago.
Spotlight: Won a Nottingham classified (6f, good) last month and couldn't get in from a wide stall when beaten just 1l in the Wetherby handicap (5.5f, good to firm) won by Lady Of The Garr 13 days ago; penalised that day and same mark here; not ruled out.
Spotlight: Losing run stretches back to July 2023 but he threatened to get back on the scoresheeet when runner-up twice in May; probably not the percentage call.
Spotlight: All starts at 5f; promise as a 3yo and beaten under 2l on her return to action at Redcar two months ago; form nosedived at Nottingham (good) when last of eight, beaten nearly 9l, 20 days ago; still relatively early days but she's hard to support after that.
Spotlight: 0-22 and became disappointing for Richard Hannon, leaving him after finishing fifth of nine at Southwell (7f, AW) in February; stable debut.
Spotlight: Won at Beverley (5f, good) last September but not so good since and doesn't always look straightforward; passed over.

This is knotty but perhaps Lady Of The Garr's race at Wetherby can provide the answer. The four that reoppose her will all fancy their chances of a different outcome, including narrow runner-up Quercus (second choice) and CALAFRIO, who had no luck there and has won here in the past. Asadjumeirah and Golden Prosperity, the remaining members of the Wetherby five, also warrant respect, while others that need considering include 3yo Captain Pickles, who might still have some upside.[Richard Russell] Show less
