Spotlight: Won two 6f handicaps last year, one of them over C&D; that success came on ground slower than good but he ran a cracker on fast ground at York 18 days ago, finishing off his race strongly and the only horse in the first seven home to come from a double-figure stall; on a dangerous mark but he might be of greater interest on a slower surface.

Spotlight: Yet to win for this yard but he ran a string of good races last year, including over C&D, and last month's Doncaster reappearance was encouraging (first run after wind surgery); cheekpieces back on now and he's one to take seriously.

Spotlight: He had been running creditably on turf prior to a disappointing effort at Ripon 13 days ago; looked all at sea on the undulations on that occasion and the return to a flatter track should suit; could still have a bigger run in him granted a good pace to run at.

Spotlight: Won his first four starts for Ruth Carr, including over C&D; the handicapper looked to have caught up but he disproved that theory when making all to beat 18 rivals at York last month (6f, good to firm); had a good draw there though, unlike fourth-placed Roberto Caro, and wouldn't be sure to confirm the placings.

Spotlight: Three-time C&D winner; near miss off this mark here in May too (5f) and latest unplaced effort at Haydock came at a time when the stable was quiet; no obvious reason why he wouldn't go well.

Spotlight: Started the year with a bang, winning 6f handicaps at Catterick, Pontefract and Ripon; stiff task at York next time and then had a lousy draw back at York (behind a couple of today's rivals) 18 days ago; chance if back to this year's best.

Spotlight: Beat Pals Battalion over C&D in May when rated 3lb lower; not so good twice since and could find a few of these proving stronger.

Spotlight: Not found his best form so far this year but he's dropped 8lb and he was second in the corresponding race 12 months ago (good to soft); steps back up to 6f and he's worth a market check.

Spotlight: His three wins have come on soft ground, the latest off 1lb lower at Doncaster last October; promising reappearance at Carlisle three weeks ago (5f, good to soft) but not sure today's ground is what he needs; new cheekpieces and Kevin Ryan's record in the race means he can't be discounted.

Spotlight: Group 3 win as a 2yo (7f, heavy) but progress levelled off for former stable; down the field at Epsom on his stable debut 25 days ago and 6f on quick ground might be an insufficient test.

Spotlight: Veteran who rolled back the years with his Ripon win in April (6f, good); down the field at Haydock since but he's better than that and can't be ruled out.

Spotlight: Running well over 5f this year, winning at Pontefract and Ripon this spring (both good ground); has come up short off a BHA mark in the 80s the last twice and vulnerable again back up at 6f.
